At the forefront of medical discovery as it relates to understanding the causes of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia, Pennington Biomedical Research Center is a campus of Louisiana State University and conducts basic, clinical and population research. The Center includes Basic Science, Clinical Research, and Population and Public Health, enabling both focused research and translational science. Research at Pennington Biomedical is supported broadly by multiple NIH Research Centers, and includes approximately 65 faculty and 20 postdoctoral fellows who comprise a network of 44 laboratories and 13 highly specialized core service facilities. Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Coordinator in the Clinical Data Management group in a part-time capacity.
This part-time position within Computing Services provides dedicated support to the Clinical Data Management group. The role focuses on operational and data coordination tasks essential to clinical research activities. While technical proficiency is required, day-to-day responsibilities do not involve programming or software development.
Major Responsibilities
Monitor, triage, and respond to inquiries in the RCG email account to ensure timely resolution of data-related issues.
Set up new studies in the Pennington Clinical Database, ensuring accurate configuration and readiness for data collection.
Design and implement study-specific case report forms (CRFs) tailored to protocol requirements.
Perform routine and ad hoc data quality checks to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
Collaborate with data entry personnel to resolve discrepancies and maintain high standards of data integrity.
Provide technical support for clinical data systems and troubleshoot issues related to data workflows.
Assist in maintaining secure and compliant computing environments for clinical research.
Additional tasks assigned by the Manager of Clinical Data Management.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in data management or IT support
Ability to manage computing tasks and troubleshoot basic system issues without requiring programming skills
Strong computer proficiency especially with Microsoft Office applications—Outlook, Word, Excel
Communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and written
Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
