Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will serve as the campus ADA Coordinator, including review and implementation of accommodations for students and employees
  • Develops and implements ADA/504 program policies, procedures and services
  • Maintains current knowledge of emerging issues and changes to ADA
  • Acts as an ADA liaison between faculty, staff, and other support departments on campus
  • Coordinates and administers the ADA registration and accommodation process for students 
  • Oversees Title IX compliance including the implementation and coordination of all Title IX activities.
  • Educates and trains adjudicators and confidential advisors
  • Develops, implements, coordinates and conducts educational programs and initiatives for campus regarding reporting options and obligations, support services and institutional policies and processes. 
  • Receive reports of concerns related to PM-73 and investigates as necessary
  • Submits and writes reports requested by LSU per PM-73
  • Coordinate support services, accommodations and informs of rights, responsibilities and options for parties to PM-73 concerns
  • Assist in supporting students of concern and LSUA CARES referrals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of Baccalaureate degree. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge of ADA/504 accommodations in a university setting is preferred
  • Civil rights related experience/training in the employment or higher education setting is preferred
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from university faculty/staff/administration, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or other University employees.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.

HOURS: Eight (8) hours per day, Monday –Friday 40 hours a week. Additional hours worked as needed.
