Works under the supervision of the Food Nutrition Services Manager to provide food and nutritional services that meet or exceed customer expectations. Provides technical assistance and/ or guidance to assigned staff in carrying out their work assignments. Performs other duties as assigned.

Wage Range: $16.88-$23.64
Requirements:
-1-2 years of cooking experience
Cook
- Prepares food in accordance with menus, diets, production records and recipes using established procedures and guidelines.
- Assists with tray line operations. Supports catering operations as needed.
- Assures timely delivery of food products to Cafe.
- Completes pre-preparation of foods and freezer pulls in accordance with menus and recipes Adjusts menus and recipes based on census.
- Safely operates ovens, stoves, ranges and other related equipment.
Food Safety and Sanitation
- Safely handles food in accordance with established FDA and MDA guidelines and practices.
- Follows daily sanitation schedule in performing assigned cleaning duties.
- Performs "clean as you go" activities and maintains high level of cleanliness in assigned work area.
- Washes dishes, utensils and equipment. Operates dish machine. Returns clean items to assigned storage areas.
- Ensures that all food is properly labeled, dated, and rotated.
- Collaborates with other areas of the department to minimize food waste.
- Maintains proper hand hygiene.
- Cleans and sanitizes all equipment after use.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
