Controls Project Engineer (PLC) - Service Projects

Veghel Full time

Job Title

Controls Project Engineer (PLC) - Service Projects

Job Description

Would you like to progress your career in a dynamic, rewarding and market-leading environment? If the answer is “yes”, then look no further than Vanderlande! We’ll give you the opportunity to work with our inspiring and talented experts on world-class projects – while growing your network, broadening your experience and expanding your horizons.

After your onboarding, where you learned our Engineering way of working, your first project could be to support a Sales Engineer with a modification project to expand an existing system. Eg., fitting the additional equipment into an existing building and system is not always obvious. Besides that, the system is live so phasing and logistics are important. After the design, that you create in close cooperation with a Sales Engineer , is ordered by the customer, you set up the detailed engineering and specifications so that Vanderlande can start with the manufacturing of the system.

Your position
As a senior PLC Engineer you'll design and program PLC controls meeting high quality demands on a project basis. During the commissioning phase you'll carry out functional testing of the PLC hardware and software. You'll also integrate these in the overall control system. This position involves regular on-site working to commission control and transport systems. In most projects you work with a team of multidisciplinary engineers and you are able to do the
complete controls engineering by yourself. You’re able to support multiple leads as well as projects in execution at the same time. And in live environments there can always be surprises: together with the team you will work to a solution to get everything installed and commissioned on time. Being a Vanderlande Controls Project Engineer for Warehousing projects, you are passionate about
creating such "impossible engineering" solutions.

Your profile
This vacancy is for both junior and more senior engineers
Successfully completed education at HBO (higher vocational education) level in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Science or Controls Technology.
At least 3 years’ experience in a comparable position
Knowledge of and experience in PLC applications (Siemens S7) STEP7, TIA portal and older Siemens PLC’s
Familiar with network topologies such as Profinet, ASI-bus but also older topologies such as Profibus.
Willing to work regularly for extended periods in other countries (up to 35% of your time).

Good command of the English language, Dutch language is preferred.
Driving license.
