Job Description
Skillset Required:
- Siemens TIA Portal: Proficient in TIA Portal V17 and above, with experience in project development, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- WinCC SCADA: Practical knowledge in WinCC SCADA for system visualisation and process monitoring.
- Advanced HMI Programming: Skilled in HMI screen design and scripting, including dynamic screen development and custom user interfaces.
- Diagnostic & Versioning Tools: Hands-on experience with Siemens Proneta for network diagnostics and version control, and backup management.
- STL Programming (Advanced): Capable of understanding, modifying, and optimising STL code based on functional requirements.
- Communication Protocols: understanding of Profinet, Profibus, and AS-i (Actuator Sensor Interface) communication systems.
- Advanced PLC Techniques: Expertise in pointers and indirect addressing within Siemens PLC programming for flexible and scalable logic development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and configure complete LLC control logic and safety functions for medium to large-scale systems using Siemens TIA Portal
- Design and document detailed software architecture aligned with system-level controls and project requirements.
- Lead and execute commissioning, SCADA integration, and volume testing on-site or in simulation environments.
- Create, execute, and manage detailed test plans for FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), and interface validation.
- Collaborate closely with project leads for risk identification, interface control, and technical coordination.
- Take ownership of specific LLC work packages and guide junior engineers in task execution and deliverable quality.
- Apply a strong understanding of IT networks, electromechanical components, and safety system design to ensure integration accuracy.
- Deliver assigned scope on time, within budget, and with consistent quality and documentation standards.
- Support the installation, testing, and integration of equipment across multiple zones and systems.
- Identify technical and procedural gaps and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Independently draw up detailed software specifications based on the order file, functional specs, customer requirements, and controls architecture, in accordance with the VI work method.
- Select solutions using standard modules, reusing standardised control logic blocks where applicable.
- Ensure adherence to engineering procedures, coding guidelines, and project documentation standards.
- Build, configure, generate, program, test, and document complex control applications and subsystems.
- Log and follow up on Problem Reports and suggest design/process improvements through Change Requests.
- Lead the start-up and commissioning of control systems independently, following the commissioning plan, and in consultation with the site supervisor and controls project leader.
- Ensure a complete and high-quality Service Take Over (STO), including handover documentation and validation.
- Report project progress, risks, and issues to the Project Leader, Engineering and Group Leader in a structured manner.
