Consulting Associate / Senior Associate - Corporate Sustainability & Climate Change

ERM is seeking a Corporate Sustainability & Climate Change Consulting Associate / Senior Associate to join ERM China. In this role, you will work closely with other consultants on climate change and sustainability related topics. Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support the Growth of ERM China’s services in Low Carbon Economy Transition, Climate Change, Corporate Sustainability, Environmental Advisory Services;

  • Deliver consulting services for clients coming from various sectors in China and across East Asia region;

  • Areas of project focus will, among others, include sustainability strategy development, ESG reporting, climate action, greenhouse gas inventories and carbon footprinting, sustainability target and goals setting, stakeholder engagement, and environmental impact analysis;

  • Think critically and strategically, helping to influence decision-makers and outcomes for our clients in terms of sustainability strategy and disclosure, as well as climate change.

  • Assist in general business development research, marketing, and other development tasks.

  • Fulfill internal management responsibilities of ERM including planning and budgeting, training and professional development, and interfacing with other practice areas and project teams within ERM China and other offices

             

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Environmental or Social Science, Environmental engineering, Sustainability, Climate Change or a related field; 

  • 1 -2 years of relevant working experience in sustainability, climate change, social performance, and environmental assessment preferably in a consulting role;

  • Good understanding of environmental and social impact assessment, ESG, GRI, Sustainability Reporting, SDGs implementation, climate action and circular economy including national and international laws/regulations/frameworks relevant to these subjects;

  • A self-starter with demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface effectively within multiple levels of consulting staff and client personnel

  • Good to have: project management skills and ability to manage assigned multiple tasks with remote supervision and tight projects timeline;

  • Good report writing and presentation skills with high level proficiency of MS Office Suite including Power Point, Word, and Excel.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills (English and Mandarin)
