What You’ll Be Doing

The CIBC Infrastructure Team is focused on the needs of our clients and business partners and passionate about delivering centralized operational services through our strategic pillars of Run, Protect, Transform. As a Consultant, Business Intelligence team member you will design and carry out the development of Infrastructure service related business intelligence reporting leveraging a wide variety of tools connected to multiple data sources. The incumbent will assist in the resolution of routine and non-routine operational problems or issues by investigating, analyzing and providing an informed and independent opinion or recommendation on opportunities to optimize business intelligence for the benefit of our clients, employees, and shareholders.

You can effectively perform all work activities remotely, and will only be required to be on-site on an occasional basis (1-2 days per month). This is subject to business needs and there may be additional on-site days required.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Problem Solving - Use critical thinking and the Lean Six Sigma methodology to find innovative approaches to solve problems involving a combination of people, process and technology.

  • Reporting, Analytics, and Automation – Design, develop, and enhance a suite of self-serve reports, performance dashboards, and business intelligence solutions to provide senior management with high-level visibility into business performance. Utilize tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Python, Azure DevOps, and MS Power Platform to automate data processes and empower stakeholders with actionable insights.

  • Business Analysis & Project Delivery Excellence – Demonstrate success by thoroughly understanding and analyzing business requirements, proactively identifying challenges, and developing effective, data-driven solutions. Apply strong project management skills to lead moderately complex initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and continuous improvement of programs, products, or services. Cultivate collaboration with stakeholders, communicate insights clearly, and drive projects from conception through execution to achieve measurable business outcomes.

  • Relationship Management - Work with a variety of individuals and groups at various levels in a constructive and collaborative manner. Work effectively as part of a team to contribute to achieving business objectives. Partner with Service leaders to visualize business performance and build business intelligence capability.

Who You Are

  • You demonstrate experience in having a process mindset and with Data analysis (Alteryx), BI Tools (Cognos, Tableau), data warehouses, data automation (VBA, SAS, SQL, Databricks), data querying tools (SQL), experience with large data models/modelling and preparing data mapping and requirements specific to KPI’s.

  • You are a problem solver. You have exceptional critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills with demonstrated ability to independently identify and analyze business problems and recommend effective solutions.

  • You act like an owner. You understand business and process requirements in order to define fairly complex processes or a sub set of processes affecting a line of business. You lead projects through end to end demonstrating accountability.

  • You embrace and champion change. You'll continuously evolve your thinking and the way you work in order to deliver your best.

  • You have a strong educational and professional foundation: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related technical discipline. Advanced degrees (MBA, Master’s in Analytics, Data Science, or Industrial Engineering) are considered an asset. Professional certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or relevant BI/Process Automation credentials (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) are highly valued. Experience with databases and data management (e.g., SQL, data modeling, ETL processes) is a strong advantage.
