Reporting to the Leader, Corporate Communications, you’ll play a supporting role in delivering against our corporate communications strategy, employee engagement programs and internal communication initiatives.  

 

You will learn how to deliver best in class marketing/communications materials for both internal (Interac employees) and external partners that highlight our brand commitment of leading Canadians to digital prosperity. You’ll also lend your creativity, storytelling skills, and strategic thinking as you support the larger corporate communications team in delivering against our business objectives 

 

 

You’ll be responsible for  

 

  • Supporting corporate communications team achieve their objectives by developing and coordinating on-brand, on-message content, including employee communications, social content direction, team updates and status tracking.  

  • Assist in internal and external announcements and communications like: product announcements, Interac corporate year in review, marketing campaigns, earned media, Interac Town Halls, employee engagement, employee volunteer events and talent brand. 

  • Supporting with employee communications against our corporate social responsibility and sponsorship programming including donation campaigns, volunteer opportunities, town halls, internal and social events, contests etc, and coming up with creative ideas to enhance our current programming.  

  • Building and cultivating relationships –establish, manage and grow internal relationships and with our agency partners to ensure maximizing opportunities and innovating as a team. Understand their key communication priorities and KPIs as they are your own.  

  • Understanding the importance of partnering with creative, media, and activation agencies to bring employee and consumer engagement activations to life and support corporate initiatives.  

  • Reporting on program milestones, opportunities and metrics and support with planning ways to amplify our narratives through social media (paid and organic), internal channels, and partner channels 

  • Providing administrative support and quickly learning new technologies and platforms.  

  • Supporting with creating engaging employee events that support employer brand strategy 

  • Helping to measure our impact and reach by pulling key metrics from external platforms  

  • Assisting with the development of presentations and collateral to educate key audiences 

  • Supporting the development of an email communications program for external audiences and drafting email copy for specific audiences 

 

 

You bring:   

 

  • Currently completing an undergraduate degree from a creditable Canadian institution with a focus on public relations, communications, marketing, journalism media studies or similar fields. 

  • Ability to write compelling content for both digital channels (Website, Newsroom, internal intranet, Social, Email)  

  • Ability to create high quality employee engagement opportunities that support employer brand strategy 

  • Creative mind ready to spot and execute on new ideas 

  • Juggling multiple projects and deadlines and being flexible when priorities shift. Supporting the team in developing high quality pieces of content that supports Interac programs 

  • Previous exposure to Public Relations, Digital Content and Strategy, Digital Marketing 

  • Experienced with social media platforms 

  • You’re a team player, natural collaborator and build relationships easily 

  • The ability to stay organized across multiple projects and deadlines 

  • The ability to give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You know the importance of data and showing the results of your work. 

  • Confidence in your ability to communicate detailed information in an impactful way – you are a storywriter and a have a passion for storytelling. 

  • Understanding that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making. 

  • You are a proactive problem-solver with a demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following: 

  • Graphic Design (Adobe Photoshop, In Design, Web-based apps) 

  • Video editing or production (Social, web) 

  • Event coordination 

 

Workstyle: Hybrid (3 days on-site) 
Location: Toronto 
Term: January to April 2026 
Duration: Monday – Friday
