We are currently looking for a Commercial Manager to join our ACT Construction business and lead the Commercial team on a major, long-term project in Canberra.

As a Project Commercial Manager with Lendlease, you will be required to take ownership of all commercial aspects of a project including administration of the head contract and subcontracts, developing the procurement strategy and processes, as well as outlining cost controls, budgets and managing project cash flow. You will also be responsible to ensuring that contracts and tender documents contain the necessary EH&S inclusions. As this is a leadership role you will lead and mentor your commercial and administration project team through to handover.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Leadership of the project Commercial team including a team of Contracts Administrators.

  • Ownership of the administration of the head contract and subcontracts.

  • Development and execution of the procurement strategy.

  • Oversight of project cost controls, budget, and cash flow.

  • Oversight of contracts and tender documentation and ensuring all legal, EHS, and compliance requirements and included.

To be successful, you will need:

  • A construction management, building, engineering degree or equivalent coupled with 10-15 years industry experience in contract administration within the construction industry, ideally on projects above $100 million.

  • Due to our upcoming pipeline, healthcare project experience will be highly regarded.

  • Expertise in contract management, construction law and quantity surveying, along with program financial management, risk and opportunity management, performance reporting, budget preparation and administration.
