The role 

Wayve is looking for a high-agency, multi-skilled Commercial Excellence Specialist to support a wide range of cross-functional initiatives across partnerships, operations, marketing, product, engineering, and data strategy. This role is designed for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and brings flexible execution capacity to priority efforts during moments of high change or urgency. As a force multiplier embedded across multiple teams, you will lead or support projects that help us scale our go-to-market capabilities, deepen partner alignment, deliver our product, and improve operational clarity. The ideal candidate is a generalist with strong analytical and communication skills, an interest in emerging technology, and the drive to build structure where it doesn't yet exist.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Initiatives & Strategy (35%)

  • Act as a flexible resource embedded into high-priority, often unplanned initiatives— Supporting efforts to align needs of the strategy, partnerships, marketing, and policy teams with broader business and technology objectives.
  • Business Operations Support: Rapidly build context and ramp up on unfamiliar topics to provide structure and forward motion on loosely defined initiatives.
  • Conduct gap analyses and assessments across functions to identify misalignments, prioritize improvement opportunities, and recommend actionable solutions.

Commercial Initiatives Delivery  (35%)

  • Manage commercial and business operations programs and continuous improvement that require cross-functional team support.
  • Assist with market development and fleet expansion programs—define strategies, conduct market assessments and regulatory feasibility analysis, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure operational readiness for new geographies
  • Translate internal stakeholder needs into project plans, dashboards, or briefing documents to align teams and enable swift execution.
  • Support Commercial cross-functional leads in coordinating timelines, tracking actions, and surfacing blockers on strategic workstreams.

Commercial Support (20%)

  • Interface with external stakeholders—including investors, policy leaders, and industry partners—by supporting briefings and facilitating demonstrations.
  • Support data strategy efforts by conducting analyses, building reports, and developing dashboards that enhance visibility into commercial and operational performance.
  • Partner with Partnerships teams to define operational requirements that enable the successful delivery of partnership programs and pilots.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to ensure cohesive messaging, alignment on launch activities, and clear articulation of Wayve’s commercial narrative to internal and external audiences.

About you 

To thrive as the Commercial Excellence Specialist  at Wayve, you bring a unique mix of strategic insight, commercial acumen, and cross-functional skills. You are a systems thinker who can operate seamlessly across commercial, technical, and operational domains, with a bias for action and a structured approach to complex problem-solving.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated success leading high-impact, cross-functional initiatives—ideally at the intersection of corporate strategy, operations, and technology.
  • Strong commercial judgment with experience in partnership development, business planning, or corporate development.
  • Proven ability to drive execution and alignment across Engineering, Product, and Operations teams in fast-paced or R&D-heavy environments.
  • Expertise in building and delivering structured frameworks to address ambiguous challenges, particularly in scaling operational or commercial processes.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and external partners.
  • Comfortable operating with urgency and precision in globally distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business or a related discipline.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree in business, strategy, or related discipline is a strong plus.
  • Background in sectors such as autonomous systems, automotive, mobility, aerospace, or enterprise technology is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with strategic analysis and validation processes in complex system environments.
  • Experience with data-driven tools such as Jira, Confluence, or internal metrics platforms.
