We are seeking a highly motivated and result-driven Student to join our Investment Finance System Accounting (IFSA) team at AIMCo. As a Student, you will play a key role in performing highly specialized system accounting functions across a multi-layered investment pool structure for our clients. The IFSA team is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the accounting configuration within SCD, AIMCo’s portfolio accounting system and official book of record, ensuring compliance with various accounting standards while preserving the accuracy of source accounting data across multiple platforms.


You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of investment products, cutting-edge system configurations and comprehensive change management workflows within AIMCo’s portfolio accounting system.


This will be a full-time term position for 8-months from May 2026 – December 2026 

Responsibilities:

  • Refreshing and maintaining the Asset Owner dashboard to perform daily validation of configuration and change management process to ensure compliance with various accounting regulatory frameworks

  • Refreshing and maintaining the IFSA internal dashboard to track team’s KPI

  • Supporting the team in preparing daily IFSA validation, weekly deployment, and quarterly control packages

  • Assisting team with the daily monitoring of application access controls through Asset Owner Dashboard

  • Assisting team in validating change requests, preparing Configuration Requirement Documents (CRD), and conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on all defects, projects, and change management efforts

  • Improving IFSA documentation and providing input to policies and procedures

  • Providing backup to team and ad hoc requests as required

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies in Accounting, Finance or related field

  • Returning to studies Winter 2027 or enrolled in a formal work experience program (ex. co-op) with remaining work terms available

  • A team player with strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Experience using data queries/visualization tools such as SQL, Python, and Power BI would be an asset

  • Exposure to automated reporting is an asset

  • Strong financial accounting skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and work under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Effective analytical, organization, time management, and communication skills

Success Factors:

Your success in the role will be in your ability to finish tasks independently and support various IFSA projects. Your enthusiasm and passion for learning will be supported by the whole IFSA team, made up of various accountants and specialists.
