The Reliability Hardware and Systems Team is seeking motivated individuals to fill two positions:

  • Spring Co-Op: (January - June)

  • Summer/Fall Co-Op: (May - December)

The Internship program at ADI provides young professionals with the opportunity to gain professional experience within an innovative and global company. ADI’s long-term goal is to convert an intern into a full-time employee. The University Relations Team continually strives to accomplish this goal year-after-year by establishing a well-equipped program (virtual and in person) that focuses on growth, company culture, and mentorship, coupled with a collaborative work environment and passion for innovation.

 

ADI provides a high-quality internship program that the company has consistently been known for. These events revolve around the cross collaboration with peers and include executive speakers, lab tours, development events, social events, and community service opportunities. Our Intern Program provides opportunity for interns to collaborate and learn, drive results, and grow their professional network. 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:  

  • Work on exciting hardware systems designs to support cutting-edge, high complexity product burn-ins, including simulation, schematic capture, and software/firmware design. 

  • Design and build prototypes to determine the efficacy of one or more blocks that make up a full system solution, making use of common prototyping skills and tools such as sample kits/evaluations boards, bread-/proto-boarding and 3D printing. 

  • Hands-on hardware verification and debug work in a lab environment, documenting findings and proposing and testing solutions to novel problems. 

  • Working within cross-functional project teams consisting of representatives from the Product Line, Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing, Reliability Engineering, Failure Analysis, and Reliability Operations, getting exposure to the full product development lifecycle. 

  • Chance to tackle challenges that span the electrical, mechanical, and thermal domains that comprise each full hardware system solution.  

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Working towards BS/MS degree with full time student status in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field 

  • General circuit knowledge in all common areas with a stronger emphasis on digital communication, power circuits, ADCs, and microcontrollers. 

  • Familiarity with embedded microcontroller concepts and applications, ability to bridge the gap between low-level programming languages and hardware. 

  • Understanding thermal principles and behaviors as they relate to practical circuit design. 

  • Ability to perform circuit evaluation using a variety of bench test equipment including oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and power supplies/signal generators. 

  • Knowledge of high-level programming languages such as Python or C#, and experience with C/C++ for low-level hardware applications. 

  • Ability to use simulation tools such as SPICE (ex. LTspice) or MATLAB to aide in design and debug of hardware solutions. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to self-motivate, learn quickly, and have a good work ethic. 

  • Capable of clear, accurate and timely communication both written and verbal. 

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 3D printing and CAD (ex. SolidWorks) experience
