We are currently looking for a Cloud Service Engineer for our Technology Excellence Platform Service team who is capable of building and running large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant cloud platforms. The engineer will work with teams across the organization and ensure core platforms meet or exceed reliability and performance expectations while adhering to Equifax engineering principles.
As a Cloud Service Engineer on the Platform Services team you will be on a team that provides reliable, performant, and cost effective managed cloud based platforms for the Equifax Workforce Solutions business unit of Equifax.
What you'll do
Contribute in the design, deployment, and operational management of multi-cloud Platforms using Kubernetes, Istio, Composer, and other essential services across AWS and GCP.
Work closely with product engineering and ops teams to build/migrate/operate highly available, cost-effective, secure platforms.
Create new tools and automation designed for auto-remediation of incidents and removal of manual tasks.
Contribute to establishing end-to-end monitoring and alerting on all critical aspects to ensure SLAs and get proactive notifications of possible issues for all systems.
Work with other Cloud Engineers and Platform Engineers to resolve support tickets, developing and executing automation, and troubleshooting.
Participate in the SLDC lifecycle using CI/CD principles and tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, Github, ArgoCD .
Actively engage in blameless postmortems, utilizing proactive outage identification to factor into iterative improvement.
What experience you need
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or equivalent field
Detail-oriented and timeline driven with an emphasis on accuracy and results.
Ability to understand the big picture as well as pay attention to detail.
Proven creativity, problem solving and decision-making ability.
Excellent leadership, teamwork and service skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
What could set you apart
Exposure/knowledge of cloud technologies (Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Azure)
Experience developing and/or administering Kubernetes in public cloud or similar experience/certification
Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices a plus
You have foundational knowledge/exposure to Agile/SDLC methodologies
