Location: Albany, MO
Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday - Thursday: 3PM-1AM) + Friday OT as required

Pay: $22.44 + $1.00 Shift Premium for 2nd Shift

Position Summary

The Class IIIA Foam Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of foam production equipment used in the manufacturing of high-performance components. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to perform both Class II and III level tasks. Operators are expected to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and productivity in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the production of high-performance products that support Johnson Controls’ mission of creating smarter, healthier environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the Following:

  • Machine Operation & Setup

    • Set up and operate foam fixtures and related machinery.

    • Calculate and adjust shot times for foam dispensing.

    • Monitor machine performance and adjust settings for optimal output.

    • Perform basic troubleshooting of fusion gun and system as needed.

  • Production & Quality

    • Read and interpret blueprints and shop orders.

    • Measure materials and finished products using a tape measure.

    • Ensure foam products meet dimensional and quality specifications.

    • Cut and trim foam blocks to required sizes.

  • Perform all Class I and II jobs.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Language Ability

  • Ability to read and comprehend the English language – this includes simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos (i.e. safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, shop-floor paperwork, and procedure manuals)

  • Ability to write simple correspondence

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Math Ability

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to compute rate and percent and interpret bar graphs

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Computer Skills

  • Basic computers skills required
