The Opportunity:

Booz Allen is seeking a Product Manager to enable and grow a rapid development capability. As a Product Manager focusing on advancing ideas from 0 to 1, you will play a critical role in shaping the capabilities which define the future of our product portfolio across a range of technologies, including Cybersecurity, Compliance, Edge, Autonomy, Quantum, AI, and Data. You will be responsible for incubating product strategies, gathering customer requirements, and working closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative and disruptive ideas to point where an investment decision could be made. Your work will involve close collaboration with engineering, business development, and external stakeholders to ensure the potential outcomes meet customer needs. This role requires a deep discernable ability to deliver at speed, iterate with purpose, and achieve validation to be to move on to the next thing.

What You'll Work On:

  • Promote a mindset of embracing experimentation, fast failures, and data-driven iteration across the product team and the broader organization.

  • Strategically choose the appropriate level of prototype fidelity, such as paper sketches, clickable wireframes, functional MVPs, and physical mockups required to answer the critical questions at hand, balancing speed and necessary detail.

  • Be proficient in or quickly adopt various low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototyping tools, such as Figma, InVision, or even AI and no-code platforms to quickly bring concepts to life.

  • Develop hypotheses and structured testing plans for prototypes to gather actionable feedback on usability, desirability, and core functionality.

  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure the user experience is considered in the prototypes, and with engineers to ensure prototypes are technically feasible or to clearly define the technological leap required.

  • Lead or actively participate in user interviews, usability testing, and co-creation sessions with customers to get prototypes into their hands early and often.

  • Quickly analyze user data, both qualitative and quantitative, and feedback to determine which concepts to pivot, iterate on, or discard.

  • Ensure that the prototypes are focused on solving the most critical user problems and validating the riskiest assumptions before significant development investment.

  • Translate validated prototypes and testing learnings directly into prioritized features, user stories, and requirements for the official development backlog.

  • Instantly cut features and complexity, focusing the prototype solely on the minimum required elements needed to answer the core validation question, such as Minimal Viable Test (MVP).

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in technology product management

  • Experience with rapid prototyping, ideation, and advancing capabilities from 0 to 1

  • Ability to manage the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond

  • Ability to thrive in fast-moving startup environments and effectively lead change

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience working across a variety of software and hardware technologies

  • Experience designing focused experiments to validate key product hypotheses

  • Experience in tools used to create rapid, interactive mockups and prototypes, such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, or specialized no-code and AI builders

  • Experience with pricing and packaging of hardware and software products.

  • Knowledge of the underlying technology stack, such as software, hardware, or AI to quickly assess technical feasibility and the cost of a concept which enables smart trade-offs on fidelity vs. time

  • Ability to define success metrics for a prototype, such as "This prototype aims to increase user intent-to-purchase by 10%"

  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Possession of excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $125,300.00 to $233,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
