About the Role:
As the Chief Engineer, you’ll lead the overall engineering strategy and operations for the resort and residences. You’ll oversee all aspects of facilities management, from energy conservation and sustainability to safety, maintenance, and capital projects, while inspiring a skilled team dedicated to excellence.
This role provides strategic direction, operational leadership, and technical expertise to protect our assets, enhance guest satisfaction, and drive performance. You’ll partner closely with the General Manager and Department Heads to create innovative solutions, deliver high-quality results, and foster an environment of continuous improvement and collaboration.
What You Will Do:
Lead & Inspire: Oversee a talented Engineering and Maintenance team, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance development to achieve excellence in operations and service delivery.
Drive Operational Excellence: Direct all aspects of property maintenance and facilities management, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, life safety systems, and energy management.
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs, capital projects, and energy-saving initiatives that align with brand and business goals.
Ensure Safety & Compliance: Maintain full compliance with ADA, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements. Champion environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives.
Financial Leadership: Manage departmental budgets, forecast expenses, and lead cost-control measures while maintaining top-tier quality and efficiency.
Collaborate & Communicate: Partner with leadership, owners, and corporate resources to ensure property goals and engineering standards are met. Build strong, positive relationships across departments and with external partners.
Crisis & Emergency Response: Provide technical guidance and leadership during emergencies, ensuring guest and employee safety while minimizing operational disruption.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for innovation, lead projects that enhance operational performance, and support ongoing professional development within the team.
What You Bring:
Experience: 10+ years of engineering or facilities management experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (Chief Engineer, Director, or equivalent) within luxury hospitality or a similar environment.
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and life safety systems, with experience managing large-scale maintenance and energy programs.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build, motivate, and lead high-performing teams with a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence.
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent technical training. - Professional certifications such as CEOE, IFMA, FMA, or related designations are highly desirable.
Business Acumen: Strong understanding of financial management, project planning, and vendor negotiations.
Collaborative Spirit: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across multiple stakeholders.
Adaptability: A hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments and embraces innovation, sustainability, and service excellence.
What we offer:
Salary range is: $115k - $125k annually
Eligible for Performance Base Annual Incentive Plan (15% Target)

This is a full-time position.
