About The Team

The Product Development Team at Gotion Illinois New Energy Inc. focuses on the design and development of advanced battery products for next-generation energy storage system (ESS) and electric vehicle (EV) applications. We lead the full product development cycle, integrating mechanical, electrical, thermal, and control system to create high-performance battery solutions, along with comprehensive system integration, validation, and certification activities.

 

Role Summary

The Chief Engineer - is responsible for leading the battery product making it happen to meet customer demands, from Request for Information (RFIs or RFQs) until six months after Start of Production. The Chief Engineer is the guarantor of customer satisfaction in product and engineering in conjunction with the achievement of product development Timing, Quality, Cost and Delivery objectives, while ensuring profitability throughout the entire product life cycle.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Highlight Gotion’s product competitive advantages to customers and build strong relationship with customers  
  • Interface between customer and collect customer demands on products like timing and cost 
  • Effective communication and close work between customers and internal company functional team members on product design, production, quality, and delivery
  • Participate and work with sales team in the commercial contract discussion/negotiation
  • Support customer purchase order process (order receiving & release and payment)
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams of the company to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Analyze customer integration with respect to quality indicators, reliability, and service levels, using insights from the warning network to identify and implement improvement actions
  • Project management
  • Support sales with RFI and RFQs
  • Bachelor degree or above, knowledge on high voltage battery, new energy vehicle, energy storage system is a plus;

 

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelors degree or above
  • Familiarity with the battery manufacturing process
  • Minimum 5 years Electrification work experience
  • Knowledge of high voltage batteries, new energy vehicle, and energy storage systems
  • Good oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Experience at EV Component Supplier or OEM
  • Responsible as lead for product
  • APQP, PPAP, ISO/TS 16949, Project Management, Marketing & Competition Analysis, Product Knowledge
  • Offer and Contract Management
  • Ability for frequent travel to customer sites as required
  • Team leadership

 

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000.00 - $156,000.00 + 15% bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
