This position will report to the GIS Application Specialist mentor within the
Motorola Solutions Software & Deployment team and will perform daily tasks related, but not limited to:
Analyze and create supporting GIS documentation
Create geographic datasets and supporting map documents
Assist in analyzing existing datasets and assist in creating supporting data reports
Research new technologies
Qualifications:
Current student pursuing a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Geography or another GIS related field with a graduation date on or after Dec 1, 2026
Interested in GIS relating to public safety and CAD,RMS (Computer Aided Dispatch) software.
Experience using ESRI products such as ArcMap, ArcCatalog and/or ArcPro, ArcGIS Online to collect, analyze data, manipulate data and create maps.
Ability to work independently as well as with other individuals in person as well as remotely.
Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects from inception to completion while keeping in mind deadlines.
Ability to perform basic computer functions, including data entry, document creation and presentation development using standard software applications (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint etc.)
Ability to effectively communicate in a professional setting
Ability to demonstrate basic problem solving skills
This position is a remote position and candidates can be located anywhere in the US.
