The Cash Receipts Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and precise allocation of payments for fees and disbursements to both client and general ledger accounts. The Cash Receipts Specialist, as assigned, is responsible for supporting the Trust/Escrow Group to guarantee that all transactions are executed efficiently and promptly.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily data entry and application of client payments received via firm lockbox, check/cash, and wire/ACH.

  • Communicate with attorneys and legal support staff concerning proper application of payments. 

  • Conduct daily cash deposit reconciliation.

  • Work closely with collection and billing staff ensuring correct application of client payments.

  • Process accounts receivable write-off requests from billing attorneys.

  • As needed, complete escrow/trust transactions, including deposits, producing checks and transferring funds via wire/ACH.

  • As needed, apply on-account funds to accounts receivable.

  • As needed, provide client historical payment information.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Strong communication skills in both written and oral form with professionals in the firm and clients regarding client accounting issues.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Ability to work under pressure and balance multiple competing priorities.

  • Ability to self-manage and work independently in a remote, hybrid, or in-office setting.

  • Deadline-driven with excellent time management skills

 

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the requisite knowledge and ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in accounts receivable or cash receipts management.

  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.

Hiring Salary Range:

$50,000.00 - $70,000.00
