We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services). We are seeking a values driven individual to join our successful Canberra Recovery Services (CRS) residential program and Canberra Recovery Hub (CRH) Day Program Team as a Casual AOD Case Worker. This role provides relief cover across CRS and CRH, ensuring a safe, structured, and participant led recovery environment in line with TSA guidelines.
Based at our Residential Centre in Fyshwick and Day Program in Braddon, you will play a vital role in supporting participants through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral, and case management.
Provide relief cover on a casual basis across CRS and CRH programs
Deliver daytoday service through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral, and case work
Develop and monitor individual treatment plans, maintaining accurate case documentation and reporting
Provide risk management and safety planning, linking participants to specialist services where appropriate
Deliver case management with individualised recoveryfocused care plans addressing substance use and related behaviours
Collaborate with Canberra Health Services (CHS) DASL Case Managers to ensure therapeutic alignment and coordinated care
Maintain strong knowledge of referral and support options for participants
Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and service performance indicators
Attend team meetings, including Clinical Review and Integrated Governance meetings
Demonstrate a supportive, participantfocused approach always
Minimum Diploma qualification in AOD, Community Services, Case Management, or related discipline
Completion of 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willingness to complete during employment)
Understanding of issues faced by people experiencing AOD, gambling, mental ill health, and other disabilities
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
Ability to critically reflect on practice and tailor programs to participant needs
Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
Strong skills in managing unpredictable behaviours using deescalation techniques
Computer literacy; experience with MS Teams and SharePoint desirable
Knowledge of WHS obligations and ability to apply them in practice
Current National Police Check and Driver’s Licence required
