Your Opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting victim-survivors of domestic and family violence? Do you want to make a meaningful impact in your local community?

Join our dedicated team delivering the new Integrated Domestic and Family Violence Services (IDFVS) program in Young, NSW.

As a Case Manager, you will provide specialist, trauma-informed case management to adult and child victim-survivors of domestic and family violence (DFV), with a focus on safety, empowerment, and long-term wellbeing. You will work within a multi-agency, integrated service model, collaborating with local partners to deliver flexible, culturally safe, and client-centred support.

In addition to supporting victim-survivors, you will also play a role in engaging with people who use violence, where it is safe and appropriate to do so. This includes providing referrals to Men’s Behaviour Change Programs (MBCPs) and other relevant services, contributing to whole-of-family safety planning, and supporting accountability and behaviour change in line with the IDFVS model.

The position will initially work from the Cootamundra office for approximately six months before moving to the new location in Young.

Although this is not an identified position, we strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments using tools such as the DVSAT.
  • Develop and implement individualised case plans in partnership with clients.
  • Provide ongoing support, advocacy, and referrals to relevant services including legal, housing, health, and counselling.
  • Engage with children and young people as clients in their own right, where appropriate.
  • Support people using violence through information, referral, and coordinated safety planning, in collaboration with specialist services.
  • Utilise brokerage funds to support client safety and wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to data reporting
  • Participate in interagency collaboration, community education, and service promotion activities.

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant degree or Associate Diploma with relevant experience; or other appropriate qualification with relevant experience
  • Demonstrated case management and intervention delivery skills
  • Experience working in the community service sector, particularly with DV or Justice and a thorough understanding of the impacts of violence within intimate partner relationships
  • Understanding of Domestic & Family Violence, its complexities, and consequences, particularly as they affect Aboriginal Women and Children, and sensitivity to their needs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice response to Domestic & Family Violence
  • Good communication skills, particularly in negotiation, advocacy, and conflict resolution
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Current NSW Driving Licence

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
