The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of the largest providers of homelessness services across the country. Our philosophy is that every person should be afforded dignity and respect and that no one should be without a safe, affordable, and secure home. We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services.

About the role

As a Case Manager, this is your opportunity to deliver high quality case management support services across Bass Coast and South Gippsland to young people including families with accompanying children who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness

Reporting to the Client Services Coordinator, this fixed term part-time role offers 30.4 hours per week and is contracted until May 2026. This role is located in Leongatha, VIC.

How you will make an impact

  • Deliver high-quality support services to young people, couples and families, including those with children, using trauma-informed, youth work and social work frameworks

  • Conduct assessments, develop and implement individual case plans in collaboration with clients, and regularly monitor progress and outcomes

  • Engage with young people with complex needs, including AOD, mental health, out-of-home care and adolescent violence, and connect them with community supports and advocacy where needed

  • Maintain accurate client records, manage risks, and contribute to program development and service improvements within an integrated team approach

  • Facilitate group activities, life skills sessions and therapeutic programs, and participate in portfolio teams and strategic working groups to support client wellbeing and program delivery

What you will bring

  • A Tertiary qualification in social work, social sciences or related field. (desirable)

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering case management practice within a homeless service setting.

  • Well-written verbal and IT communication skills.

  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills with capacity to balance workload, determine priorities and meet deadlines while also managing the needs of client crisis assistance requirements.

  • A current VIC drivers licence and employee Working with Children’s Check​

Compensation is in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 5
