As we continue to expand across Australia’s Defence domain, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Capture Manager to join our Growth team and lead the process of winning new business opportunities that shape Australia’s future capability.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Growth, you’ll take ownership of qualified opportunities, leading the capture and proposal phases of KBR’s Growth Lifecycle. You’ll play a pivotal role in developing winning strategies, building high-performing teams, and ensuring every pursuit reflects KBR’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

This is a permanent full time position and can be based in either Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute winning strategies – create compelling value propositions, competitive intelligence portfolios, and teaming approaches to maximise our probability of success.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams – guide subject matter experts, engineers, commercial, finance, and business development professionals through all phases of the capture process.
  • Drive proposal excellence – work closely with our Proposal Management team to oversee the development of compliant, persuasive, and customer-focused proposals.
  • Engage stakeholders – foster strong relationships with internal and external partners, customers, and industry collaborators to strengthen KBR’s market position.
  • Ensure compliance and integrity – manage risks, uphold governance, and ensure adherence to all internal and client requirements.

About You:
You’re a strategic, results-driven professional who thrives on competition and collaboration. You combine business acumen with strong Defence domain knowledge and enjoy leading teams to deliver complex pursuits.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in capture management, bid management, or business development within the Australian Defence industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing capture strategies.
  • A solid understanding of Defence/Government acquisition processes and capability development principles.
  • Experience managing complex projects and budgets.
  • Familiarity with proposal writing and development processes.
  • Australian citizenship and the ability to hold (or a history of holding) a minimum NV1 security clearance.
