About The Position

The Capital & Financial Planning Specialist position is responsible for providing analysis and support in the development of benefits cases, financial models, and analyzing data results and key metrics to inform leaders about the operational and financial performance of B&CS capital projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively execute activities, provide support and collaborate with B&CS and business unit leadership in matters of capital governance and analysis to include capital planning and tracking of projects, cost effectiveness (as needed), and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support, develop and present recommendations to B&CS and business unit leadership regarding capital planning and spend. This may include challenging current strategic planning processes, creating one standardized business case solution and ensuring consistent system practice from all functions.
  • Prepare reports, perform ad-hoc analysis, and investigate issues brought forth B&CS and business unit leadership related to business and financial performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Independently create effective and professional slide presentations with inputs from core team.
  • Support rate reviews, audits, and other regulatory matters related to B&CS capital including reporting and data requests.
  • Analyze business intelligence information using a variety of internal Ameren systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field from an accredited University required. Three or more years of relevant professional experience required (e.g. accounting, financial reporting, analysis or modeling, and business planning). CPA, CFA, MBA or similar advanced degree in business, finance, or economics preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Strong analytical skills - must have advanced Excel skills, be an analytical thinker with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and recommend appropriate plans of action. Strong computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access. Knowledge of Oracle based systems is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication - will interact and build strong working relationships with teammates at all levels throughout Ameren including senior management; will have extensive interactions with key Ameren IL leaders. Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically. Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment. Compensation Range:

$71,100.00 - $110,200.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
