We are offering a rare chance for a peek into the workings of a trading desk! You will work with treasurers/portfolio managers/traders and soak in the daily bustling trading activities. You will learn about our pricing methodologies, funding practices, and hedging philosophies. You will also have opportunities to interact with other areas of the Bank including but not limited to Risk, Accounting, and IT.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES               

  • Learn about the management of a mortgage portfolio.
  • Provide support in product pricing (advances and mortgages) and facilitate with transaction verification and documentation (onBase, eMPF etc).
  • Automate reports and processes using SSRS/ VBA/SQL or Power BI.
  • New product/system testing.
  • Assist with identifying and gathering market information and check the validity of the information with multiple sources.      
  • Conduct market research and perform ad hoc analysis in support of overall portfolio management strategies.                                

REQUIREMENTS

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, or similar fields with a quantitative focus.  A working knowledge of fixed income financial instruments and risk measures is required. Some exposure to data science and computer science a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (emphasis on Excel with the ability to create and maneuver spreadsheets and data) and knowledge in VBA, SQL and Power BI.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Conceptual, analytic, and information technology skills appropriate to financial asset pricing and risk measurement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills combined with ability to plan, organize, and carry out multiple project assignments.

Hours are flexible and depend on the student’s class schedule, course requirements (if applicable), and availability. • Hours Per Week: 30 - 40
