Review supplier performance and validate with SCM KPI’s. 

TdC analysis for projects.

Track and analyze all supplier requests about capacity, cost and benchmark.

Strong negotiation with suppliers in México, US and other regions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Source, negotiates and establishes commodity prices. Handles assigned commodities. Ensures cost control in accordance with the Nissan revival plan cost reduction goals and requirements.

  • Locates suppliers and develops their abilities to meet current and future requirements.  Ensures suppliers meet Nissan’s goals for quality, cost and delivery. Performs comparative analysis of competing suppliers to select most competitive source for logistics commodity.

  • Prepares and enters purchase orders, verifies prices, delivery dates, etc.

  • Establishes contracts for assigned commodities; maintains purchase orders, and related purchasing records; maintains files and records of current and potential suppliers, operations and prices.

  • Conducts procurement activities in a professional manner for logistics services, inbound & outbound and all services related.

  • Plans, develops, implements and maintains cost reduction plans in support of the department’s cost reduction goals. To set up & follow up plans, based on schedule activity with SCM, A/S and suppliers.

  • Evaluates suppliers overall performance on price, quality, on-time delivery and others. (SLA’s & KPI’s).

  • Manages vendor relationships.

  • Maintains on-hand and incoming purchased services within budgeted levels. Working closely with clients, optimizing freight loads and minimizing costs in the most efficient manner possible. (Budget forecast, monitor changes, communicates forecasting data).

  • Assists and works with team members in Purchasing Department as needed. Proactively suggest ideas or changes that incorporate Nissan mindsets to improve overall effectiveness of the purchasing area, SCM & A/S operation.

  • Working closely with counterparts to do benchmark, to analysis markets, capabilities, etc.

  • Proactively works to resolve purchasing logistics issues across multiple functions matching customer expectations and local or regional requirements.

  • Effective management and prioritization of workload.

  • Educate clients of NPO Sourcing requirements and mitigate escalations.

  • Maintain the highest ethical standards.

  • Manage contracts and compliance processes/politics.

Education:

Bachelor in Business Administration, Commerce or Engineering.

Previous work Experience:

Desirable one year of related experience as buyer. Experience in the Manufacturing Industry (Automotive is a plus).

Required knowledge:

Purchasing and logistic knowledge, Commercial experience, legal regulations.

Language:

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.  Fully bilingual. (TOEIC score 600 or higher)

Computer skills:

MS Office

Purchasing and project management software.

Other skills:

Negotiation and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coordinates and recommends cost savings ideas and efficiency for clients and internal employees, strong and impact communication, Storytelling, executive presentation.

Travel availability required: Occasional day or overnight travel.
