This position is open for recruitment and fully funded following the 2025 Special Legislative Session.

The role: 

We are seeking an experienced business systems analyst to provide guidance and project management for a variety of IT projects aimed at enhancing, modernizing or introducing new technologies to meet changing business requirements. A day in the life:

  • Oversee teams on large, complex projects to improve or redesign business processes.

  • Analyze business needs for new software development.

  • Conduct data analysis tasks.

  • Create cost and time estimates for system automation options.

  • Provide estimates for resources, costs and time to meet automation requirements for customers.

  • Evaluate data relationships to “normalize” design for efficient utilization and storage.

  • Identify and address corrupt or problematic data issues to ensure efficient design and storage.

  • Plan for various applications and operating systems with diverse users and hardware.

  • Coordinate with internal and external partners in workflow evaluation and implementation.

  • Support the standards and strategic direction of Central Business Systems (CBS) and the Information Systems Branch.

  • Work in an office environment 1-2 times a year depending on business needs with hybrid work options available.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Six (6) years’ of information systems experience in: business systems and business process analysis.

OR 

  • An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND four (4) years of information systems experience in: business systems and business process analysis.

OR 

  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in: business systems and business process analysis.

OR 

  • Master's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver analysis working with a variety of technologies and business application systems.

  • History of roles and work that demonstrate strong business process analysis, data analysis (not data warehouse or reporting), and systems analysis skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a broad variety of customer, technical staff, and other partners.

  • History of developing accurate analysis deliverables and other written documentation, together with strong customer service and excellent communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform project management on application enhancement and maintenance efforts.
