Business Systems Analyst (Oracle Cloud Financials- GL/AHCS)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Functional Consultant with primary expertise in Oracle cloud General Ledger (GL) and Accounting Hub Cloud Service (AHCS), and secondary experience in Oracle Cloud Financials and related sub-ledgers. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, technical teams, and end-users to analyze, design, implement, and support financial systems.
 

Responsible for facilitating complex projects from proposal through post-implementation.  Participates in meetings with lines of business to identify their requirements in how an application looks and feels to the end user; provides feedback on them.  Serves as project lead to ensure test plans and specifications are completed in a timely basis and project meets established milestones.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze and gather business requirements related to GL and AHCS modules.

  • Configure and maintain GL and AHCS modules within the Oracle Cloud ERP environment.

  • Design and document functional specifications for customizations, reports, and system integrations.

  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure successful solution delivery.

  • Support month-end and year-end financial close activities.

  • Conduct system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and end-user training.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues in GL and AHCS modules.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and financial reporting standards.

  • Provide post-implementation support and drive continuous process improvements.

  • Prepare well-documented functional specifications for assigned projects, test plans, test scripts, and execution of test scripts.

  • Responsible for research analysis of complex data ensuring functional design of assigned projects is accurate.

  • Serve as mentor to less experienced staff, assisting in application training, research analysis, and project methodology consultation.

  • Schedule and facilitate project team meetings; document and distribute minutes as applicable.

  • Meet with business clients to discuss requested application changes related to enterprise-wide or business initiatives, compliance/regulatory requirements, contractual agreements, or system maintenance (BAU).

  • Participate in design discussions and ensure required functional specifications are delivered.

  • Participate in meetings with lines of business to identify requirements for application usability and provide feedback to ensure technology supports customer needs.

  • Review business requirements with technology teams to ensure understanding of project scope.

  • Coordinate and provide estimates for complex projects; complete estimates for assigned components, including timelines and phases.

  • Serve as subject matter expert to advise on application impacts from enterprise-wide initiatives (e.g., acquisitions, product/service changes).

  • May serve as Test Coordinator for large project initiatives involving multiple applications.

  • Participate in and document data mapping for system integration, conversion, and acquisition-related projects.

  • Collaborate with other testing teams to prepare test plans and scripts; manage and/or execute test scripts to verify changes and enhancements.

  • Serve as functional lead with other project team members on systems impacting the project.

  • Monitor functional specifications and change requests to ensure project scope alignment and regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure adherence to business requirements and Corporate Technology standards.

  • Ensure change requests are documented, reviewed, and resolved to support business needs.

  • Ensure timely resolution of issues from testing or implementation to meet performance expectations.

  • Document and report issues, incidents, and resolutions as required.

  • Coordinate and manage post-implementation activities including feedback collection, issue resolution, and debriefing (timeline and financials).

  • Assist in developing expense and capital budgets and employee appraisals.

  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.

  • Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulatory issues.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

Combined minimum of 8  years' combined higher education and/or operational/business analytics/systems development experience

Education and Experience Preferred:

Bachelor's degree

Subject matter expert in business with knowledge or experience utilizing application/system being supported.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $97,869.52 - $163,115.87 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
