Job Summary: 

The Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer II designs, evaluates, and tests BI reports, dashboards, and tabular models.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, implements, and maintains systems used to collect and analyze business intelligence data.

  • Create dashboards, databases, and other platforms that allow for efficient collection and evaluation of BI data using established HCI and layout concepts.

  • Works closely with departmental staff and other stakeholders to gain an understanding of BI goals and objectives to ensure the systems, and their capabilities support competitive research efforts that achieve those goals.

  • Trains other staff members on the use of BI tools and programs.

  • Troubleshoots problems, identifies possible solutions, and resolves accordingly.

  • Other job related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter with 4-7 years of experience.

  • Performs work under minimal supervision; ability to work independently and in a virtual environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities: Ability to analyze complex problems, think critically, and propose effective solutions. Handles significant issues and problems and refers advanced issues to higher-level staff.

  • Strong communication skills: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in written form.

  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
