Job Purpose

The Business Intelligence Coordinator provides administrative support for the Business Intelligence/Analytics team and supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of projects. The Business Intelligence Coordinator uses available data sources to research questions and to develop solutions. This individual develops, tests, documents, and supports simple Power BI dashboards and other analytical reports for staff and faculty.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for the Business Intelligence leadership team.
  • Handles scheduling for the Business Intelligence leadership team and associates.
  • Attends in-person and remote meetings; presents to groups, facilitates meetings, creates agendas, maintains minutes, and performs necessary project management tasks.
  • Communicates project or work status to department leaders on a regular basis.
  • Serves as a key contact for all IT tickets, floor/desk moves, and Dining/Catering requests.
  • Processes new hire/transfer paperwork for various positions within the Business Intelligence and Analytics Team.
  • Captures business requirements via interviews, studies business processes, and evaluates existing systems, procedures, and documentation.
  • Creates and maintains accurate and detailed requirements, scopes of work, functional specifications, and associated documentation.
  • Develops and maintains simple reports and dashboards using Excel and Power BI.
  • Acts as an interface between distribution, technology teams, and support teams to support a collaborative process.
  • Writes and maintains standard operating procedures and program documentation (User Guides and Business Process Documents).
  • Manages the project intake process and reports on results.
  • Maintains and updates Power BI tools and manages access controls.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving data management and processes, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency.

  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in all applications of Microsoft Office, including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Ability to retrieve, manipulate, and present data using pivot tables, formulas, and other available data tools within Excel and Power BI.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Elevated level of self-initiative and self-direction.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to multi-task oversee multiple projects.
  • Ability to plan and organize work, perform tasks consistently, and adhere to priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate with various people on different tasks or issues while maintaining a courteous, helpful, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service to team members and stakeholders outside the department.
  • Flexible and adapts to change.
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and willingness to be a part of a fast-paced, dynamic team.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • 2+ years of previous secretarial and/or administrative experience preferred.
