Job Description:

Role: 

Purpose of the Role & Responsibilities

Purpose of the Role & Responsibilities:

The Business SME will act as the primary link between Finance Operations and the BFA implementation teams, ensuring the business requirements, enrichment rules, and reporting logic are correctly reflected in the solution.

These roles will be engaged as project consultants through the FinOps function, backfilling BAU team members to allow them to fully support the BFA design and testing activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide detailed business knowledge to support configuration of BFA enrichment and mapping logic.

Validate reference data and source system inputs into FCDP.

Ensure entity and segment-specific rules (WPB, CIB, Corporate Centre) are correctly implemented.

Support testing and validation of GL detail outputs for TM1 and Saracen submissions.

Identify off-system or non-book-of-record data required for accurate reporting.

Work with business controllers and Finance leads to validate data and submission readiness.

Bring in product knowledge of GTS / GPS/C&L to provide validation of output.

Document and communicate business requirements to Data Operations and Configuration teams.

Control:

·         Ensure business rules and configurations comply with Group Finance governance standards.

·         Support maintenance of audit trails for enrichment and submission processes.

Management of Risk:

·         Identify potential risks in data sourcing, enrichment, and submission processes.

  • Ensure all configuration and reporting align with internal control and BRCM frameworks.

Stakeholder Management:

·         Engage with business controllers, Finance partners, and project teams to align on design and implementation.

·         Collaborate across entities to ensure consistency of enrichment and reporting rules.

·         Support communication of configuration progress and risks to the FinOps leadership team.

Essential Experience & Competencies

 

·         Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, MBA, CPA, or equivalent).

·         Strong knowledge of financial reporting, management reporting, and MI processes.

·         Experience with Finance systems such as TM1, Saracen, and FCDP.

·         Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

·         Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

·         Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced transformation environment.

·         Note: These roles will be temporary consultant resources engaged via the project function to backfill BAU capacity. All positions will roll off once the BFA implementation is complete.
