We need an excellent candidate to be a part of the Global Data and Analytics, External Data Management team.  You will help create and manage a new group solely focused on governing Cigna’s third party data sources.  Get ready to be a part of strategy development and program management!

When you join our newly formed team, you will also be leading working groups and providing detailed updates to Senior Management.  It is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team who is setting their own direction!

  • Can you shepherd new requests through the procurement process as well as managing existing data sources through renewals using your project management and organizational skills?
  • Do you like to collaborate with business and technical subject matter experts to understand the data requirements?
  • Do you enjoy overseeing the schedule, risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies related to deliverables?
  • Do you like to partner with other business areas as needed to execute on end to end business requirements?
  • Is working with data SMEs to assess business value and prioritize data source acquisition interesting to you?
  • Do you have a passion to work with broader External Data Acquisition teams to recommend governance and delivery policies and guidelines?

  • BS or BA degree in Information Science, Computer Science or Economics equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience with data sourcing, vendor management or data governance required
  • Experience with third party data vendors required
  • Previous work experience in project/program management required
  • Previous experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
  • Experience leading working groups of 5-10 members (matrix)
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills to bring context to data requirements from the business
  • Intermediate to advanced in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Comfortable presenting to Senior Leadership with the confidence to consult, follow up and influence subject matter experts and functional leads.
  • Previous experience & expertise with team input to influence business priorities and business actions for maximum strategic benefit.
  • Previous experience in healthcare is preferred.
  • Cigna experience a plus, preferably focused working with current external data sources/vendors.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 111,500 - 185,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
