The Role 

You’ll be part of Wayve AI Portal team - our cloud-powered AI-as-a-Service platform driving the next generation of autonomous mobility.

As the BI Engineer (Data Presentation & Insights) for the team, you will design and deliver embedded BI dashboards, visualizations, and analytical experiences that make complex autonomy and operations data easy to interpret and act on. You will define how the dashboards are implemented, performant, and integrated into the product.

You’ll work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders / teams to:

  • Define core metrics and visual narratives
  • Build interactive dashboards and visual data products
  • Ensure the Portal’s data presentation layer delivers clear, consistent, and performant user experiences

This is a design-forward BI role — ideal for someone passionate about turning raw data into clarity, visual storytelling, and user impact.

Requirements

Essential

  • Design and deliver BI dashboards and visualizations within the Wayve AI Portal, surfacing insights on AI Driver deployment and performance for customers.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and product designers to define clear, consistent insights aligned with validated data models.
  • Work with data engineering teams to define and validate semantic layers, data marts, and transformations that power BI dashboards.
  • Implement data aggregation pipelines, SQL queries, and materialized views to ensure scalable, performant, and maintainable analytics.
  • Optimize query performance, caching, and refresh strategies for low-latency embedded dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain AI Portal dashboards or equivalent embedded BI layers integrated into the Portal frontend.
  • Partner with Product to define KPI frameworks, success metrics, and data narratives that drive product and business decisions.
  • Implement data validation, monitoring, and governance processes to ensure accuracy and freshness.
  • Ensure role-based access control (RBAC) and compliance with Portal IAM and data security standards.
  • Document metric definitions, dashboard logic, data lineage, and query performance best practices for transparency and self-service analytics.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with automotive domain - vehicle production readiness insights (releases, issues, certification, validation insights)
  • Familiarity with Sigma Computing.

What Success Looks Like

  • The Wayve Portal’s dashboards are intuitive, visually engaging, and trusted by all user groups.
  • Core business and performance metrics are clearly defined and consistently visualized.
  • Stakeholders across the company self-serve insights instead of relying on ad-hoc queries.
  • Data visualizations drive decisions and confidence in AI Driver deployment to customers.
