What you'll do:

As a Banking Operations Manager you'll be responsible for the overall administration and coordination of banking operations activities, which may include recommending and developing policies and procedures that mitigate risk and ensure the credibility of the Bank upheld by enforcing professional deliverables, timely responses and superior service. You'll serve as subject matter expert for banking operations, ensure process improvement activities remain on track, affected parties are informed, and any change to milestone timelines or expected initiative completion is communicated timely. In addition to this, you'll ensure your team adheres to service level agreements and understands their responsibilities when responding to internal client requests and project tasks. Within this role, you'll be required to lead or participate in complex initiatives, relying on your subject matter expertise to help drive and move the project forward. You'll lead a team of individual contributors, and potentially team lead and supervisor, who will be supporting branch operations, deposit operations, product management, IT and other key areas across the bank.
  • Responsible for supporting the Senior Payment and Deposit Operations Manager and Directors to ensure seamless operations. Handle escalations, customer concerns, and operations challenges promptly and effectively, while reinforcing and exhibiting superior client service through appropriate and timely collaboration with internal and external clients.
  • Contribute to the development of banking operation solutions by evaluating requirements, studying system capabilities, analyzing alternative solutions and documenting processes. Prepare policies, procedures, workflows, process improvements, etc. for review and approval by management for use in Banking Operations, ensuring compliance and policies that affect the organization.
  • Monitor and optimize workflows and reporting to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance service delivery. Develop and implement strategies for process improvement and cost optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, internal policies, and risk management protocols. Collaborate with internal audit, 2LOD, risk, and direct management to demonstrate adherence to controls and produce required documentation.
  • Lead, motivate, support and develop a team to achieve company goals and objectives. Set clear expectations and performance goals for team members. Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance, providing feedback, coaching, and training. Manage workload distribution and prioritize tasks to ensure efficiency. Responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development.

What you'll need:

  • 10+ years of related experience in Banking Operations or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Previous leadership experience required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience working in high-volume or critical issue customer service roles, with prior experience in similar functions.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • May require up to 25% travel.
