Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony is continuing to build a world class Performance Media and Creative Organization committed to driving results with our retail and payments partners while delivering leading customer experiences. Within this organization, our Content and Organic Social Media Team is focused on growth and engagement by identifying and seizing opportunities using our owned channels, influencer marketing, and social listening. We are seeking a results-driven and dynamic Associate Vice President (AVP), Social Media Manager to develop, execute and continually optimize a comprehensive social media strategy, supporting business units across the enterprise.

This role will explore, execute, and optimize relevant social campaigns including work within Facebook/Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit and Pinterest.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own the strategic roadmap and vision plan for Social as a key tool for engagement, brand awareness and conversions to the Synchrony brand and lines of business.

  • Manage influencer marketing at the enterprise level, ensuring campaigns follow best practices, comply with FTC guidelines and well represent the company.

  • Collaborate with our Brand team on a holistic social media strategy and content through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, core messaging and audience identification.

  • Grow and maintain social communities for Synchrony brands through publishing and social engagement.

  • Engage in regular KPI reporting to integrate and measure the value and impact of our social media marketing efforts and opportunities and demonstrate the value of social media to the wider organization and key stakeholders.

  • Establish repeatable operational methodologies and mechanisms that enable frugal, fast and responsive social content development and distribution.

  • Protect and optimize brand equity with consistency in voice, messaging, and approach across all social content in partnership with VP of Content and Social, Creative Directors and Corporate Brand.

  • Manage multiple projects under deadline pressures.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree. In lieu of degree, HS Diploma/GED and 6+ years social experience with in-depth expertise across multiple platforms (e.g. Facebook/Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Snapchat)

  • 2+ years of social media strategy experience with in-depth expertise across multiple platforms (e.g. Facebook/Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Snapchat)

  • Experience in social media and influencer strategy, planning and execution for both awareness and engagement campaigns

  • Experience with translating client marketing goals to social strategy

  • Experience in social creative, content & production by channel, tone of voice, visual ID and social media messaging strategies.

  • Experience developing measurement plans with analytics, understanding and communicating the complex data challenges of social media platforms

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in financial services, retail or healthcare – experience in social media at a large financial services brand a plus

  • 2+ years of agency experience in a Social Media role

  • Experience using the Sprinklr platform desired

  • Customer-focused, understanding the impact that social media can have on brands, business goals, NPS, and customer satisfaction

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging by brand, platform, channel and audience

  • Must have a deep understanding of each social media platforms; corresponding rules/laws, changing offering/news/analytical tools.

  • Advanced skills in Excel and PPT are essential as well as strong business writing skills.

  • Detail oriented and organized with the ability to juggle competing demands and effectively prioritize tasks.

  • A self-motivated individual who is able to operate autonomously and take control when required.

Grade/Level: 11

                                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

                                 

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
