The Role: Associate Software Engineer(Power BI)

The Team:

  • As part of the Power BI Center of Excellence within the Mobility division, our team is responsible for designing, developing, analyzing, and troubleshooting reports and dashboards in Power BI and Tableau.
  • We also administer and manage content across multiple business intelligence platforms, including Power BI Service, Tableau Server, and AWS QuickSight.
  • Our team collaborates closely with global customers and account partners to gather business requirements, develop data-driven solutions, and conduct walkthrough sessions.
  • We specialize in analyzing complex, high-volume, and high-dimensional datasets from diverse sources, leveraging tools such as ETL frameworks, SQL, and Microsoft Excel to deliver actionable insights.

  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities through advanced analytics, providing strategic recommendations that influence key business initiatives and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across teams.
  • Enhance end-user experience by creating intuitive, interactive dashboards and reports, empowering business users to explore data independently and make decisions with confidence.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of BI processes, tools, and methodologies, ensuring the organization leverages best practices and maximizes the value of its data assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end Power BI reports and dashboards, transforming complex data into actionable insights to support strategic business decisions and drive operational efficiency.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements, define project scope, and deliver detailed specifications to design, develop, and implement end-to-end BI solutions.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define technical vision and requirements, ensuring the development of high-value business Intelligence solutions.
  • Perform comprehensive data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights for business analysis and improvements.
  • Develop and maintain efficient, reusable, and high-performance solutions within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI Service, ensuring alignment with established specifications and best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews, assess alternative solutions, and provide recommendations to optimize system performance and maintain code quality.
  • Develop and maintain user guides for both existing and new BI solutions, thoroughly documenting the end-to-end solution process.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Min of 5 years of experience as business analyst -
  • Business-oriented professional skilled in gathering requirements, defining project scope, and delivering detailed specifications for BI solutions, including end-to-end development and implementation
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Excel, and other O365 applications for delivering business intelligence and analytics solutions.
  • Solution-focused professional with expertise in financial datasets and key metrics, skilled at analyzing data, generating insights, and providing actionable recommendations to drive business decisions
  • Professional who can efficiently develop and optimize semantic data models in Microsoft Fabric, leveraging OneLake, dataflows, and Python notebooks to enable high-performance and insightful Power BI reporting.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaborative delivery practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse, global teams and stakeholders.
  • Required to work in the EMEA time zone (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM IST) to ensure alignment and collaboration with global teams.



Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

  • Knowledge of Python, PySpark, or Spark for data analytics.
  • Demonstrated curiosity or hands-on experience with generative AI technologies and an eagerness to explore how emerging innovations can enhance business intelligence, automation, and productivity.
  • Previous experience in an Azure environment beyond Power BI Service.
