Bbyo

Associate Regional Director, Lake Ontario Region, Canada

Toronto, Canada Full Time

At BBYO, we’re motivated by our mission, inspiring us to reimagine work to make it fun, flexible, and fulfilling. We are looking for a passionate BBYO Associate Regional Director (ARD) to join our team and make a difference. As an ARD, you’ll play a pivotal role in the success of BBYO by working closely with teens in Lake Ontario Region (Toronto, Vaughan, Hamilton, and Ottawa) to create strong programs, develop leadership skills, and make their chapters great for Jewish teens. Alongside your teammates, you’ll connect in a dynamic environment and create a positive impact on teens, our community, and the world.

You:

You love working with teens. You’re creative, quick on your feet, and you like your job to change every day. You’re not the kind of person who wants to sit behind a desk. You have an infectious personality and you love getting others to join you in changing the world. You're a problem solver, skilled at juggling multiple priorities at once, and you enjoy being a part of a team.

Us:

We’re a global network of passionate professionals working to amplify Jewish teen life worldwide. We are the Jewish community’s largest and fastest growing pluralistic platform for reaching and inspiring Jewish teens, built on 100 years of storied history. We do this challenging and invigorating work through our partners in more than 725 local, teen-led chapters across more than 65 countries, at hundreds of weekend retreats during the school year and across a rapidly growing suite of global exchanges, campaigns, and movement initiatives all year-round. Over the summer, we run dozens of immersive experiences including extensive Israel travel, missions and community tours across six continents, and a myriad of leadership camps. Our team is strong, agile, creative, inclusive and every day is different by design. We are fast-paced, high-energy, and results-driven, and we enjoy working together almost as much as we believe in the mission we are chasing together.

What you’ll get to do as an Associate Regional Director:

  • Work directly with teens to create impactful, fun and dynamic programs for Jewish teens in grades 6-12
  • Guide teens in establishing an annual calendar for each chapter that drives engagement and recruitment through meaningful programming
  • Support the coordination and execution of large-scale regional conventions and community-wide events
  • Empower and inspire teens, volunteers and advisors through your mentorship, coaching and training
  • Recruit new members to join BBYO and to attend summer programs
  • Work alongside colleagues to bring new, innovative, and fun ideas to the community
  • Build and maintain relationships with key volunteers, parents, partners and stakeholders in the community
  • Assist with mass communication tools including but not limited to newsletters, social media, and phone follow-ups
  • Support data processes that drive recruitment and engagement—tracking membership, attendance, and program logistics using Salesforce, JotForm, Google Drive, AirTable, and other BBYO tools
  • Attend summer camp (but this time you’re in charge!) as you direct teen leadership programs
  • Participate in organizational projects, teams, and summer programs as assigned to expand the movement and strengthen teen leadership

What you’ll learn as an Associate Regional Director:

  • A wide array of non-profit skills including budgeting, membership, marketing, sales, human resources, event planning and more
  • How to track and analyze business metrics to drive decision making
  • How to work with a global team across organizational and geographical boundaries
  • Relationship building as you network with and travel to other BBYO communities
  • Professionalism and the ability to inspire and influence others to action.

Role Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of work experience
  • A bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience with youth or teens is preferred; experience leading teams or projects is preferred
  • Ability to work in-person in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (evenings & weekends) when teens are available
  • Ability to travel as needed and to staff a summer leadership program at a location in North America for 2-3 weeks each summer, attend International Convention (every February), and BBYO Staff Conference, as well as other opportunities as relevant
  • A valid driver’s licence and vehicle
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in Canada without holding a visa or sponsorship

Benefits of Working for BBYO:

BBYO provides generous vacation time and sick time, paid time off on secular and Jewish holidays, as well as excellent opportunities for ongoing professional development. This is a role with long-term career trajectory and awesome opportunities to collaborate with colleagues on projects across Canada, throughout North America, and around the world. The position will be built and supported to maintain a flexible work environment to help foster your preferred work-life

Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in any aspect of the selection process.
