About the Role

As part of the senior leadership team the Associate Nurse Unit Manager will manage day to day clinical operations in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.  The Associate Nurse Unit Manager will provide direction, guidance and support to the nursing team and escalate care of the deteriorating patient. 

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager will support and assist the Nurse Unit Manager in achieving specific Key Performance Indicators as developed for the unit. The function of this position is to ensure the provision of comprehensive assessment and quality nursing care that meets the requirements of the Aged Care and Accreditation Standards.


Classifications for this position will range from classification range NP83 - NP74 ($115,536 -$119,429 per annum pro rata).

Your Contribution


You are a dynamic, highly motivated Registered Nurse with the drive to lead the team at Riverside. You bring demonstrated leadership and management skills along with excellent communication skills and organisation ability and will be capable of acting as the NUM when required.

  • Degree in general nursing which meets the registration requirements of AHPRA

  • Demonstrated organisational skills.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the organisational budgetary structure.

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain

Riverside is a 30-bed aged person’s mental health unit which cares for residents with various mental health, behavioural and psychological needs. The care model for Riverside is that of person-centred care which has at its core the responsibility to ensure that a person’s ability to make choices in every aspect of their lives is supported, where care is provided in consultation with each person and where institutional elements are eliminated to the greatest extent
