Based across our Slough and Cambridge sites, this role plays a key part in leading the engineering function responsible for maintaining our facilities, utilities and equipment, ensuring operational reliability and continuous improvement.

Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Asset Engineering teams across Slough and Cambridge, including both internal engineering teams and external FM Hard Services partners.
Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, spare parts management, training, and maintenance execution to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant site operations.
Manage an operational budget in excess of £10M, ensuring financial transparency, accurate forecasting, and delivery of cost improvement initiatives.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality, and operational performance while minimizing business interruption.
Develop and mentor team members to create expertise at all levels, promote open communication and empower decision-making.
Collaborate with service providers, contractors, procurement, and internal customers to ensure service excellence and regulatory compliance.
Lead with integrity, accountability, and a commitment to fostering a high-performing engineering culture.
Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability or a related technical discipline.
Proven experience leading large, skill-diverse engineering or maintenance teams within a GMP-regulated environment.
Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and inspire teams to achieve service excellence and breakthrough performance.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance operational priorities with long-term strategic needs.
Experience managing significant operational budgets and driving cost and efficiency improvements.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization and external partners.
A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on building capability and delivering sustainable operational improvements.
