As an Associate Claims Representative in Auto Claims, you’ll be on the front lines supporting our customers during challenging times. Your primary responsibility is to investigate and manage claim files, helping individuals and businesses recover and move forward after a loss.

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement.  Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT, Naperville, IL, San Antonio, TX, Lake Mary, FL, Scottsdale, AZ) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

Start Dates/ Training Details:

  • Training Begins: February 2, 2026

  • Training Hours: Monday- Friday/8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Local Standard Time

  • Travel Required: Training will include travel to Hartford, CT for an in-person learning lab for the week of March 2, 2026.

Post-Training Schedule

  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday/Core Business Hours, no weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage first- and third-party Personal Lines auto claims with a focus on financial accuracy, proper file resolution, and compliance with statutory guidelines.

  • Investigate property damage-only claims to assess liability and subrogation potential.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by building and maintaining strong relationships in line with The Hartford’s communication standards.

  • Make thoughtful decisions with the customer at the center of every action.

  • Apply critical thinking to analyze data and make sound judgments.

  • Continuously evaluate performance and strive to exceed expectations.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture that drives operational excellence and employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience preferred.

  • Strong learning agility and ability to adapt quickly to meet job demands.

Licensing Requirement

As a condition of employment, you must obtain and maintain a State Adjuster’s License to process Property & Casualty Insurance Claims in supported states. Continued employment is contingent upon passing the licensing exam(s) within 30 business days of completing licensing training.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$45,280 - $67,920
