EDUCATION • Degree or equivalent work experience equally preferable • Degree in finance or other relevant field CERTIFICATIONS WORK EXPERIENCE • Extensive experience within a complex financial services environment providing support for trade finance servicing, structuring trade deals and supply chain finance • Significant experience with financial products, accounting principles and compliance regulations FUNCTIONAL SKILLS • Thorough knowledge of relevant bank policies, procedures and government regulatory agencies as they relate to trade finance operations • Comprehensive understanding of economic and political risks in international trade, e.g. exchange rate risk • Advanced knowledge of commonly used trade financing reporting, reconciliation and audit mechanisms and tools FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS • Demonstrates leadership • Communicates effectively • Identifies multiple paths to success using analytical and critical thinking as well as decision-making skills • Operates strategically to support a culture of continuous improvement and systems thinking • Makes sound business decisions in a complex work environment • Collaborates with other business functions and divisions to advance business objectives • Is flexible, decisive, and able to establish support from leadership • Monitors industry trends and best practices and applies insights to advance the business • Exhibits and fosters optimism, resilience, flexibility, and openness to others' ideas • Inspires innovation and values learning as a lifelong professional objective • Leads by example, engaging inclusively and with intent • Always acts with integrity RESPONSIBILITIES • Reviews and audits trade finance documents, outstanding payments, document examinations, discrepancy notifications, letters of credit renewals and maturity files • Identifies and resolves potential risks associated with letters of credit transactions • Ensures Process specialized trade finance transactions such as letters of credit, amendments, acceptances and collections reimbursements are processed accordingly • Provides oversight to records preparations and issuances, amendments, negotiations and related trade finance correspondence for: standby and commercial letters of credit, documentary collections, bank-to-bank reimbursements, supply chain finance and dynamic discounting • Monitors the reconciliation and balancing of letters of credit fees, liabilities and posted items • Approves payment disbursements • Serves as the escalation contact to internal and external clients regarding the status of high touch transactions • Advises on investigation and resolutions of customer inquiries, and ensures established SLAs are met • Ensures compliance withal bank policies, procedures and various regional government regulatory agencies including: [e.g., U.S. Department of Commerce Anti-Boycott Provision, U.S. Treasury Department Office of Foreign Assets Control Regulations, Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Patriot Act, and Sarbanes-Oxley, Uniform Customs and Practice (UCP), Uniform Rules of Collections (URC), International Standby Practices (ISP) and International Standard Banking Practice (ISBP)] • Establishes, tracks and improves standard operating procedures based on workflow and environment review • Reviews and recommends actions based on reported data
