Position Summary
Seeking a passionate and creative assistant designer who is interested in exploring a career in accessories and lifestyle design at Kith. The designer will be assisting with a focus on Kid’s and Men’s Headwear, Softgoods, & Lifestyle Accessories. The ideal candidate is a driven individual, a collaborator that will help assist the Accessories Design Team in the execution of process, in order to bring the designed projects to materialization.
Responsibilities
Work alongside the Men’s Headwear Designer, Kid’s Design Team and report alongside the Senior Accessories
Designer across multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
Assist on the product development of accessories styles by doing research, sketching, building tech packs and
follow alongside the product life cycle processes.
Sketch CADs with sized artwork and detailed call outs with direction provided by the team.
Creating tech packs for the products that need to be completed.
Manage seasonal color palettes, graphic assets, and trim charts.
Assist team in keeping organization of samples and trims by development stages and corresponding
collections.
Assist in managing the product life cycle from sketch through pre-production and production samples.
Attend weekly design meetings and recap with designers as well as cross-functional partners.
Assist in setting up and organizing for milestone meetings, ensuring the seasonal samples are in order for
presentation purposes.
Liaise with SMU partners on sample hand-offs and coordinate tracking.
Liaise with the archive team to manage sample loans and ensure their proper return and archival.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design or related field
1-3 years of experience in accessories design or graphics design in the fashion industry
Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop and the Adobe Creative Suite
Understanding of soft good accessories development, construction and application of artwork techniques
Experience and knowledge of product development process/ calendar/ timeline
Experience in creating mood boards and conducting market research.
Skills:
Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Google Suite and the PLM system.
Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of construction.
