As an Assistant Procurement Manager, you will play a critical role in driving procurement excellence across our contract logistics operations in Malaysia. Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic Procurement Leadership: Optimize procurement spend across contract logistics categories, ensuring cost leadership and value creation.
Project Management: Lead and execute procurement projects using Maersk’s Six Sourcing Steps methodology, managing timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables across multiple regions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with global procurement teams and internal stakeholders to align strategies and share best practices.
Framework Development: Design and implement procurement frameworks for contract logistics and real estate, focusing on compliance, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.
Market Intelligence: Conduct supplier market analysis, gather competitive intelligence, and benchmark costs to maintain a strong market position.
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and nurture strategic supplier partnerships to drive innovation, reliability, and long-term value.
Risk & Issue Resolution: Act as the escalation point for procurement-related disputes, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to digital procurement transformation initiatives.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required
We’re seeking a resilient, solution-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The ideal candidate will have:
Around 5 years of experience in procurement, with hands-on knowledge of SAP, Oracle, and Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) systems.
Experience in warehousing, distribution, or landside transportation is a strong advantage.
Proven expertise in supplier relationship management, contract management, and supply chain operations.
Familiarity with digital procurement tools and platforms.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Agile mindset with customer-centric approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
Demonstrated success in leading complex sourcing projects.
High integrity and commitment to compliance.
Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
