What is the opportunity?

Wealth Management Canada, Internal Controls, is seeking an Assistant Manager, Internal Controls, to join their team. You will be instrumental in managing the daily operations of the team, manage varying responsibilities throughout the day, and leading reporting and entry of all controls. You must be highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment managing several priorities daily. What will you do?

  • Act as the Enterprise Issue Management (EIM) system expert, responsible for conducting all administrative tasks, follow-ups, and ensuring deadlines are met to support WMC Risk and Internal Controls teams’ reporting and system maintenance requirements.
  • Provide audit support to the department heads/managers for internal and external audits by coordinating and obtaining information from various stakeholders.
  • Lead the coordination and tracking of PIPEDA requests, ensuring follow-through and meeting deadlines.
  • Support Internal Control Managers with privacy and fraud related to 1LOD requirements, including reporting, tracking, follow-ups, monthly reporting and creating/updating training materials.
  • Create PowerPoint presentations for monthly Internal Controls reporting and other team initiatives, and monitor the inbox to provide support as required.
  • Coordinate pre and post-audit meetings, taking minutes, tracking action items, creating training material, and maintaining a comprehensive overview of branch audit results.
  • Organize and maintain Internal Controls filing systems, adhering to consistent naming conventions for efficient document management.
  • Respond to daily incoming operational requests and provide support to various teams such as trade operations, business risk, and front office as needed.

Must haves:

  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organization skills and follow-through.
  • Excellent time management to keep control over multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Webex.
  • A professional and optimistic attitude in all situations to create a positive working environment.
  • Ability to complete duties independently, seeking out answers and solutions.
  • Passion for continuous learning and upskilling.

Nice-to-have:

  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct & Practices Handbook (CPH).
  • Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ and or PHN’s systems and procedures.
  • Experience in the banking and/or securities industry is an asset.
  • Experience with Archer and Enterprise Issue Management (EIM) systems.
