About the Role

Support the production and delivery of Insurance Capital Standard (ICS) reporting, including implementation assessments and regulatory engagement. Contribute to various GIECA and ICS-related initiatives and projects, with a focus on developing and maintaining reporting templates, tools, and models to streamline and automate operational and analytical processes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

ICS Production

  • Coordinate with local business units and internal stakeholders to support ICS production, data requests, and related analyses.
  • Review ICS results at both business unit and Group consolidated levels, maintaining Q&A documentation for internal and external review.
  • Conduct relative prudence reviews, analysis of change, scenario testing, and reconciliations against LCSM or GIECA results.
  • Support assessments and ad hoc requests related to the HKIA’s two-phase ICS implementation plan.

Economic Capital Projects

  • Act as a technical expert on Economic Capital topics such as market risk, management actions, and time value of options and guarantees (TVoG), with a strong grasp of both theoretical and operational perspectives.
  • Enhance the readiness of Economic Capital analysis to support business decisions, including detailed movement analysis and cross-metric comparisons.
  • Serve as owner of reporting templates, managing business-as-usual (BAU) change requests and liaising relevant issues with business units and the Group Office production team.
  • Review and enhance GIECA and ICS reporting tools/models to ensure they are fit-for-purpose, synergistic, and adaptable to internal and external changes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control requirements and support audit reviews.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • 4–6 years of relevant actuarial experience.
  • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience in risk-based frameworks such as Economic Capital, HKRBC, ICS, or Solvency II.
  • Strong technical understanding of participating business, dividend mechanisms, and TVoG calculations.
  • Proficiency in Prophet and ALS modeling, spreadsheet development (including VBA); Python is a plus.
  • Self-motivated team player with strong project and stakeholder management skills who is willing to drive change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Chinese is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
