The Position/Role
Good understanding of the Month-End process, including but not limited to preparation of financial statements, accruals, and journal entries, maintain reconciliations for balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats, and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Being responsible for the safeguarding of the residential asset and financial resources to ensure that the homeowner’s interests are protected, whilst maintaining the reputation of Four Seasons as the operator
Prepare all financial statements, accruals, and journal entries, and maintain reconciliation for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Assist the Director of Finance with preparing forecasts and budgets as required locally, by the corporate office, or as per management agreements.
Oversee the preparation of all local, state, and federal tax returns on a timely basis.
Manage accounting members to attract, retain, and motivate employees while providing a safe environment. Hire, train, develop, empower, coach, and counsel; conduct performance and salary reviews; resolve problems; provide open communication vehicles; and discipline and terminate as appropriate.
Review the cash position of the hotel daily in order to optimize the use of funds.
Maintain close relations with the hotel’s internal and external auditors and ensure effective action is taken on all agreed-upon recommendations.
Who You Are
Previous Hotel Accounting Experience
Previous experience with residential (or other entity) accounting procedures and how it affects the hotel’s financials
At least 5 years of progressive experience in Accounting management
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong working knowledge of back office accounting systems
Excellent emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
