Bachelor’s degree in education, student affairs, communication, health education, or related field plus two (2) years of experience in higher education administration and/or student services.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of University policies that impact student-related issues, including the student government association, student organization repository, student health, student health insurance compliance, Title IX and ADA-related issues; emergency notification and training; and student events and recreational activities.
Strong relationship-building skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to establish effective rapport with a diverse student body with varying personalities.
Able to speak and make presentations publicly.
Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
Comfortable with taking initiative and making progress amid competing priorities and working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work with minimal supervision,
Must be able to work some evenings and weekends, on-call.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years of experience with student organizations, planning/coordinating events.
One (1) year of residential/housing or maintenance/facility processes.
One (1) year of supervisory experience.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Social Media Platforms, Content Creation, Webpage Management, Thrillshare, and GUS/UAMS Student Information System.

Responsibilities:
Assist with oversight of the residence hall housing facility and provide indirect supervision of staff.
Assist with preventative maintenance schedules and coordinating building/room work order requests and pest control.
Assist with the administration of residence life procedures such as room inventory, facility inspections, housing assignments, key control, package distribution, laundry, and maintenance referrals.
Provide up-to-date information to the business office to facilitate the collection of housing contracts and deposits.
Assist in providing leadership in developing and educating staff and students in the creation of a positive living environment.
Supervise, train, and manage the Student Center Manager and student workers. In the absence of a director, provide leadership, 24-hour availability, and accessibility to student staff, UAMS police, and central control as needed for emergencies and daily issues. Addresses policy violations, behavioral issues, and room reservations as needed.
Manage and coordinate monthly/emergency meetings with Associated Student Government (ASG) committees, Provost, Associate Provost, campus staff, vendors, and ASG officers.
Coordinate speakers, food, locations, meeting notes, and agenda for monthly ASG meetings.
Design ASG committee structures for the student health clinic/health insurance, student health insurance information system, and campus communications.
Schedule meetings with each college class officer and student council groups to update, discuss policies, and receive feedback.
Plan, advertise, and coordinate ASG events and special community projects.
Assist the Student Health Clinic with communication between ASG and representatives.
Manage and coordinate chancellor's annual student forums and annual ASG officer elections.
Distribute minutes to college class officers and student council groups to ensure accuracy of communication between colleges.
Attend ASG/Campus Life events regularly as appropriate and necessary to provide an identifiable staff member, to help protect the university from liability, and to monitor safety and other standards on an ongoing basis.
Coordinate ASG representative selection with college associate deans and contacts.
Coordinate and manage student health insurance compliance.
Manage ASG social media pages, Thrillshare, email/list serve, department webpage, and communication regarding insurance compliance and student events.
Coordinate Campus Life Announcements and Educational TV (Ed II/IDW) communication.
Manage vendor/student payments and procurement processes and event contracts.
Develop and cultivate student life programs that encourage student development, student engagement, student leadership, and student learning.
Create a vibrant and inclusive campus life experience through collaboration with faculty, staff, and students that positively contributes to student success, diversity, retention, and to the University’s mission.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote and expand student services on the Northwest campus.
Ensure the fiscal integrity of ASG, Student Wellness, and Student Center budgets.
Respond to student needs and concerns for general areas of campus life.
Stay abreast of campus services, programs, resources, and other opportunities to aid in student retention.
Work with faculty, staff, and administration to address and respond to student concerns and needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
