The Opportunity

This position works out of our Santa Clara, CA location in the Abbott Vascular Division. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease. 

Position Summary:

The Assistant Controller is responsible for managing the financial health of the organization, overseeing financial planning, analysis, and reporting. The role involves developing financial strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Assistant Controller collaborates with other departments to achieve financial goals and supports management in decision-making processes.

What You’ll Work On

  • Financial Planning: Develop financial plans and strategies to support business objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, business activity reports, and forecasts. Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow conversion cycle, including receivables, payables, inventory and other assets & liabilities.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies. Coordinate with external auditors and manage internal controls.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor finance team members, delegate tasks, and provide guidance to ensure effective performance and professional development.
  • Strategic Support: Provide financial insights and analysis to support management in decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present financial reports and updates to team members, stakeholders, and executives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a finance management role.
  • Accounting or Finance related qualification or other relevant financial certifications are preferred.
  • Previous people leadership experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Office), and a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and able to work under pressure. Strong leadership and team management skills.

The base pay for this position is

$146,700.00 – $293,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
