Position Summary:

The primary purpose of Assembly & Test is to provide the capability to assemble and test products at system (whole engine), sub-system, module and component level and to collect and validate data and pass it back to the design engineering teams to support verification of the product design, for the aerospace, industrial and marine programs.

More than 18,000 people work in Manufacturing, Assembly and Test Operations worldwide making it the largest function within Rolls-Royce. 
 

What you’ll be doing:

As an Assembly & Test Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects within one of our core areas - Test Engineering, Test Electrical and Mechanical Systems Engineering, Test Data and Control Systems Engineering or Experimental Assembly & Instrumentation - putting your theoretical knowledge into practice.
 

You’ll be paired with both a manager and a career coach, giving you the opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals. Every project you take on will support a genuine business need, with a clear connection to our products and customers. It’s a

Who we’re looking for:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking abilities

  • Good written and oral communication to a variety of audiences

  • Ability to take initiative and be self-directed and identify a problem

  • Understanding of “how” relating to scoping a task 

  • Understanding how to interpret data and apply it to a decision or next action step as needed as well as the concept of continuous improvement

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Additionally, candidates must demonstrate some coursework in one or more of the following areas: programming languages, electrical engineering, aerodynamics, aerospace systems design, astrodynamics applications

Relevant majors:

Applicants must be attending an accredited college or university, working toward a bachelor’s degree in a relevant major, and planning to return to school in the fall. Relevant majors include:

  • Aeronautical or Astronautical Engineering/Technology

  • Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology

  • Industrial Engineering or Industrial Technology

  • Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering/Technology

  • Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology

  • Data Science or Data Engineering/Technology


Minimum GPA: 3.0
