ASME Mechanical Engineer

The candidate will be responsible for performing advanced engineering calculations and analyses in compliance with ASME standards, ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and reliability of pressure vessels, piping systems, and related components.

What will you do? 

  • Perform design and stress calculations for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems according to ASME Section VIII and related codes.
  • Develop and validate mechanical designs using finite element analysis (FEA) and other engineering tools.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including calculation reports, compliance certificates, and design specifications.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure compliance with ASME and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, inspection, and testing phases.
  • Stay updated on ASME standards and regulatory changes.

What are we looking for?  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ASME code calculations for pressure vessels and piping.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 & 2, and related standards.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as PV Elite, Compress, or equivalent.
  • Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar).
  • Excellent understanding of material properties, welding processes, and manufacturing methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English (technical documentation and communication).

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of API, ASTM, and other international standards.
  • Experience in metal-mechanical industry projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
